How to enable AI Assistants

To enable AI Assistants in your account, contact your organization's IPRally admin user, or - as an admin user - enable the AI Assistants in Settings -> Company -> Licenses -> AI Assistant Features. For unlimited use, contact your IPRally Account Manager.

Ask AI

Ask AI lets you chat with individual patents in e.g. search result lists, collections and individual document views. It is ideal for extracting detailed information and summarizing individual patents.

Ask AI sees the full specification of the patent and the bibliographic data, but not the drawings (incl. e.g. image-format tables and in-line chemical formulas).

Ask AI can be accessed in multiple locations marked with this feature logo:

Multi-patent Ask AI

Multi-patent Ask AI lets you chat with multiple individual patents in large batches. In other words, it sees one patent at a time, but processes the answers in parallel, so that extracting information from or summarizing e.g. all documents in a result list or collection is convenient.

Multi-patent Ask AI questions are made in a separate panel opening at the bottom of the result list or collection and answers can be seen in the same chats as normal Ask AI questions.

Smart filters

If a Multi-patent Ask AI questions is determined - by the AI - to be binary in nature, i.e. it can be answered with YES or NO (or MAYBE), it will be eligible for Smart Filtering. This means that in addition to the answer, you will also get a YES/NO/MAYBE assessment, that can be used as a filtering criterion for the documents.

When at least one Smart filter eligible question has been processed, Smart Filter menu is activated.

In the menu, one can choose any question and answer combination as filtering criteria of the results.

Prompt Assistant

Prompt assistant helps you quickly create Ask AI and Smart filter questions based in your search target (i.e. search query). Prompt assistant is available in Free text, Number and Smart search methods, and found under the Shortcuts button in the Ask AI or Multi-patent Ask AI chat panel.

The four use cases currently covered are

  • Prior art review

  • Freedom-to-operate review

  • Technical insights

  • Targeted summaries

Smart Search

Smart Search allows starting of a patent search using any combination of

  • PDF documents

  • MS Office documents (PPTX, DOCX, XLSX)

  • Image files (PNG, JPG, WEBP)

  • Pure text files (TXT)

  • Free form text input in a text field

The documents and image files can contain content in text or images, and have any technically meaningful content: technical drawings, photos, formulas, flow charts, tables, etc. The content can be in any language.

Smart search makes a deep analysis of all the content given to define a search target, and performs an optimized patent search for it.

The search query is presented in patent claim format for easy comprehension of the search target and manual editing.

Refine (for free text input)

Old Image search cases remain accessible.
